Rebar Protectors Have You Covered

The Standard set by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) has been implemented to the point of commonplace since it was set, and rebar protectors are just the beginning.

Rebar protectors were made part of the Standard to address the issue of employee and pedestrian safety and protection, referring to the risk of impalement. Construction sites now use rebar protectors like all other safety procedures, and safety items are becoming more widespread and prolific each year.

There are several different kinds of rebar protectors, some of which include the standard mushroom shaped caps, designed to protect a person on accidental fall from an angle, while others suggest a more geometric shape designed to provide not only protection from impalement, but a sturdy guard rail for workers. New and improved forms of the rebar protector cap are being created all the time.

But the rebar protector cap does not protect from all falls. Unfortunately there have been cases of impalement where the rebar has punctured both the cap and the victim. It is a reminder that while safety measures are taken, and equipment is made and used, not all accidents can be avoided.

This product, along with the OSHA and its safety Standard is going a long way to eliminate this type of injury. And rebar protectors are just one form of safety, leading to other items such as hard hats, harnesses, steel reinforced boots and heavy gloves, which should also be addressed and used on the construction site for everyone’s safety.
